yesterday we had grade 4 public speaking. my topic was the war in gaza, I think I had the right volume and all the other things, the one thing I think I could have improved on was the speed I think that I should have gone a bit slower.here is a picture of me doing my speech. during my pre planing it was too short so I made it longer, then I made a lot of spelling mistakes so I corrected them. anyway I REALLY enjoyed this public speaking thing!

yesterday, on Thursday may 8th we went on a field trip to Micscimming witch is basically just a giant forest. first we played camouflage in the forest. then we had snack. then after that, we played this game in the forest where some people were herbivores some omnivores, and and some carnivores . the goal is to get 8 foods. if you were a herbivore you had a sheet that you had to fill up stamps that are on trees for food. if you were an omnivore you could tag herbivores, and each herbivore you tagged counted as one food. you could also get stamps for food.if you were a carnivore you could tag omnivores or herbivore for food only. after that we went to eat lunch. after lunch we went to catch salamanders. what I liked the most was the herbivore, omnivore, carnivore game. what I didn’t like is that there were boundaries for how far you could go. what I would change if I was staff I would let the kids climb trees. But it was my favorite field trip ever!!!

we are growing plants in class, I grew a cucumber but my cucumber died. It dried out, I think it dried out because over the break it was only exposed to sunlight with no water. now I will have to replant it.

I checked my seed after day 10 and it still hasn’t broken through the soil

In class we are growing plants in a paper towel in the window. today we took it out,then we put it in a cup with dirt and put it on the window. mine sprouted before it got put in the dirt cup but some people’s didn’t, some were just a seed. I wonder who’s will grow fully first!

today we went to Hillel Lodge to interview the old people. the person I  interviewed was named Sally she was born in Dominican in 1938 how cool is that. anyway it was really fun, thank you Hillel Lodge!

on Thursday Quinn came to do a kindness workshop. I really enjoyed the kindness web. here is how you play:you take a ball of yarn, then you say something kind to someone and give them a corner of string then it keeps going and at the end someone says something kind to the one who started it.we also played untangle the human knot and played this “kindness boomerang video”.
